Dr. Lethan Dwan

Veterinarian

BVMS, DVM, GPCert SAS

Originally from Scotland, I graduated with honours from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, holding a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS) as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

In 2009, I moved from Scotland to British Columbia, seeking the opportunity to work in a mixed animal practice. In 2013, my family and I relocated to Moncton, New Brunswick, where I gained valuable experience in a small animal practice. This journey ultimately led me to pursue my interest in surgery and orthopedics at Riverview Animal Health Centre where I have been since 2017. I am proud and honoured to be well-regarded in the Greater Moncton community and surrounding areas.

To further my education, I completed 3 years of practical stewardship with Dr. Caroline Runyon, focusing on advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. I also have additional training in Advanced Spinal Surgery, Small and Micro Animal Orthopedic Surgical and Advanced Surgical Oncology.

I am committed to expanding my skills and expertise in veterinary surgery. In 2024, I completed a General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, a three-year program accredited by the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS). This training has enhanced my ability to perform complex surgeries as well as anticipate outcomes and focus on the long-term benefits, furthering my capability to deliver high-quality care to my patients.

Also in 2024, I was honoured and humbled to have been nominated for Trupanion’s 2024 Veterinary Appreciation Day Awards.
